Crookston: Groslie Faces Felony Meth, DWI Charges<\/h2>\n

CROOKSTON, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Eric Lyle Groslie faces felony drug possession and misdemeanor DWI charges in Polk County.<\/p>\n

The charges follow an Aug. 26, 2026, roadside encounter in Crookston.<\/p>\n

Groslie, 56, is charged in court file 60-CR-26-1260.<\/p>\n

The case includes one felony count and one misdemeanor DWI count.<\/p>\n

Call for Gas Assistance Leads to Investigation<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Groslie contacted dispatch after his Ford Ranger ran out of gas.<\/p>\n

Police found the truck beside Old Highway 75 near Bruce Street.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was partly inside the traffic lane, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Groslie was later located at the nearby Ampride gas station.<\/p>\n

Police reported seeing possible signs of controlled-substance use while speaking with him.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Groslie agreed to complete field sobriety testing.<\/p>\n

Investigators then arrested him on suspicion of driving while impaired.<\/p>\n

No police officer names are included in this report.<\/p>\n

Meth Pipes Allegedly Found in Truck<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors say Groslie admitted using methamphetamine about two days earlier.<\/p>\n

He allegedly told police that several drug pipes were inside a cooler in his truck.<\/p>\n

Police searched the vehicle and located pipes and a bong, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Investigators later field-tested residue from the items.<\/p>\n

The tests allegedly produced presumptive positive results for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

Groslie also allegedly said he drove through several Crookston park areas that day.<\/p>\n

The complaint names Veterans Park, Central Park, Locken Park, and Wildflower Park.<\/p>\n

Felony Drug Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Count One alleges third-degree controlled-substance possession within a prohibited zone.<\/p>\n

The charge cites Minnesota Statute 152.023<\/a>, subdivision 2(a)(6).<\/p>\n

That provision covers methamphetamine or amphetamine possession inside certain protected zones.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege the drug-related items were transported within protected Crookston park zones.<\/p>\n

A conviction can carry up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n

A fine of up to $250,000 is also possible.<\/p>\n

Fourth-Degree DWI Also Charged<\/h2>\n

Count Two alleges fourth-degree driving while impaired.<\/p>\n

The complaint cites Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a>, subdivision 1(7).<\/p>\n

That law covers driving with certain Schedule I or II substances in the body.<\/p>\n

A judge authorized a warrant for a blood or urine sample.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Groslie later provided a blood sample.<\/p>\n

Fourth-degree DWI is a misdemeanor under Minnesota Statute 169A.27<\/a>.<\/p>\n
