The complaint names Simon Jay Whipple<\/strong>, born Nov. 4, 1996, of Cass Lake, Minnesota<\/strong>, as the defendant.<\/p>\n

Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Whipple is charged with a gross misdemeanor count of fifth-degree drug possession<\/strong>, court records say.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges he possessed a mixture containing fentanyl<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Court records say an officer was on patrol around 9:10 p.m.<\/strong> on Dec. 7, 2025<\/strong>, in the area of Washington Avenue South<\/strong> in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

The officer was looking for a juvenile runaway, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Records say the officer saw a male who matched the runaway\u2019s description walking toward Dollar General<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the officer made contact with the male.<\/p>\n

Court records say the male identified himself as Simon but gave a false last name.<\/p>\n

He also told the officer he had no identification, according to the filing.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the officer later learned the person was Simon Jay Whipple.<\/p>\n

Court records say a warrant from Cass County<\/strong> was confirmed.<\/p>\n
