Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 Prosecutors have filed a gross misdemeanor charge in Beltrami County District Court after a reported theft and trespass incident at Walmart in Bemidji, according to court records in Minnesota\u2019s Ninth Judicial District.<\/p>\n

The complaint names Kyle Andrew Leahy<\/strong>, born Oct. 31, 1978, of Baudette, Minnesota<\/strong>, as the defendant.<\/p>\n

Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Leahy is charged with a gross misdemeanor count of fourth-degree burglary<\/strong>, court records say.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges he entered a building open to the public with the intent to steal, after being told within the past year not to return.<\/p>\n

What Court Records Say Happened<\/h2>\n

Court records say police responded at about 1:30 p.m.<\/strong> on Nov. 18, 2025<\/strong>, to the Walmart<\/strong> in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

The call was for a possible theft or trespass incident, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Records say Leahy was found in a loss prevention office when officers arrived.<\/p>\n

The complaint states Walmart staff provided a trespass notice<\/strong> that was issued to Leahy on Nov. 12, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Court records say store staff showed police clothing items valued at under $500<\/strong> that were allegedly concealed.<\/p>\n

The filing also says Leahy left the store wearing a pair of unpaid boots.<\/p>\n

Admissions Alleged<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, Leahy admitted he knew about the trespass notice.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says he admitted to the theft.<\/p>\n
