Crookston Warrant Issued in Felony Court No-Show Case<\/h2>\n

Crookston<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Grand Forks man faces a felony charge for allegedly failing to appear in Polk County court.<\/p>\n

Roberto Carlos Lopez Jr. is charged with felony failure to appear for court.<\/p>\n

A warrant has also been issued in the new Polk County case.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege Lopez failed to attend a required court hearing after being released from custody.<\/p>\n

The complaint says appearing at future hearings was one condition of his release.<\/p>\n

Earlier Felony Case<\/h2>\n

Court records say Lopez appeared in Polk County District Court on May 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

He was facing a first-degree criminal damage to property charge in that earlier case.<\/p>\n

The judge set bail at $800 cash or an $8,000 surety bond.<\/p>\n

The release order required Lopez to attend all future court hearings.<\/p>\n

The court also warned that missing a hearing could result in another criminal charge.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, Lopez later failed to appear for a hearing on December 11, 2025.<\/p>\n

A warrant was issued after that missed hearing.<\/p>\n

The complaint states that his location remained unknown when the new case was filed.<\/p>\n

New Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Lopez now faces a separate felony failure-to-appear charge in Polk County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 months in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $5,000 fine, or both prison and a fine.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists an offense date of May 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

However, its probable-cause section identifies December 11, 2025, as the missed hearing date.<\/p>\n
