Moorhead Man Faces Felony Strangulation Charge<\/h2>\n

Moorhead<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Moorhead man faces three domestic assault charges after an alleged confrontation with his adult stepchild.<\/p>\n

Levi Cooper, 57, is charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation.<\/p>\n

He also faces two misdemeanor domestic assault charges.<\/p>\n

The case stems from an incident reported on August 2, 2026, in Moorhead.<\/p>\n

Domestic Dispute Reported<\/h2>\n

Police were called to a Moorhead residence shortly after 7 p.m., according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

A woman reported that her husband was fighting with her adult daughter.<\/p>\n

The daughter and Cooper lived at the same residence, prosecutors say.<\/p>\n

The adult victim told police Cooper was trying to force her from the home.<\/p>\n

During the dispute, Cooper allegedly grabbed her neck with one hand.<\/p>\n

She also accused him of slapping and striking her face.<\/p>\n

The victim’s mother reportedly entered the room and witnessed part of the confrontation.<\/p>\n

The victim told investigators that Cooper’s grip on her neck made breathing difficult.<\/p>\n

She also said she became frightened during the alleged assault.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the victim’s mother left the room to call 911.<\/p>\n

Cooper allegedly stopped the confrontation after the emergency call was made.<\/p>\n

Cooper denied assaulting the victim when questioned by police.<\/p>\n

He told officers that the victim had scratched him.<\/p>\n
