Mahnomen Shooting Case Brings 3 Charges for Onamia Man<\/h2>\n

Remigio Gene Pacheco, 27, faces two felony charges and one misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

The case followed an August 1, 2026, incident outside King’s Corner Bar.<\/p>\n

Two men suffered gunshot wounds during the confrontation, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Fight Breaks Out Outside Bar<\/h2>\n

Law enforcement responded to King’s Corner shortly after midnight following reports of gunfire.<\/p>\n

A witness said several men confronted Kenneth Lafriniere and Patrick Porter near parked vehicles.<\/p>\n

The confrontation became physical after one man allegedly struck Lafriniere.<\/p>\n

The witness then heard about six gunshots and saw people scatter from the area.<\/p>\n

Investigators later found Porter with a gunshot wound near his lower back and pelvis.<\/p>\n

He also told investigators that Pacheco had been arguing with Lafriniere before the shooting.<\/p>\n

Pacheco Allegedly Runs From Deputy<\/h2>\n

Police found Pacheco lying in an alley behind the bar shortly after the shooting.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Pacheco got up and ran when a deputy approached him.<\/p>\n

He allegedly ignored commands to stop before falling while running through the alley.<\/p>\n

Pacheco was then arrested and taken for medical clearance.<\/p>\n

Investigators described him as heavily intoxicated during the hospital visit.<\/p>\n

Threats Alleged At Hospital<\/h2>\n

While at the hospital, Pacheco allegedly became upset and resisted several commands.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say he threatened to punch one officer in the face.<\/p>\n

He later allegedly threatened to knock out another officer.<\/p>\n

Similar threats were reportedly heard after Pacheco arrived at the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n

Three Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Pacheco is charged with felony threats of violence.<\/p>\n

That charge carries up to five years in prison and a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n

He also faces a felony charge of aiding an offender connected to an alleged first-degree assault.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists a maximum penalty of three years and a $5,000 fine for that count.<\/p>\n
