Dilworth Walmart Arrest Leads to Felony Meth Charge<\/h2>\n

Dilworth<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Fargo man faces a felony drug charge after an arrest at Walmart in Dilworth.<\/p>\n

Dakota James Allmaras, 35, is charged with fifth-degree controlled substance possession.<\/p>\n

Officer Notices Vehicle At Walmart<\/h2>\n

A Dilworth police officer was patrolling the Walmart parking lot around 10:06 p.m.<\/p>\n

The officer noticed an unattended Ford Focus with its windows down and keys in the ignition.<\/p>\n

The vehicle displayed an expired temporary tag, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

The tag did not return to a registered owner.<\/p>\n

The officer checked the vehicle to determine whether it had been reported stolen.<\/p>\n

Investigators found the Ford was associated with Allmaras.<\/p>\n

The officer also learned Allmaras had an active warrant from Clay County.<\/p>\n

Allmaras Approaches Vehicle<\/h2>\n

The officer continued watching the Ford while it remained parked at Walmart.<\/p>\n

Two people later approached the vehicle and began working under the hood.<\/p>\n

The officer identified one of them as Allmaras using recent law enforcement photographs.<\/p>\n

Police then approached Allmaras and confirmed his identity.<\/p>\n

The active warrant was confirmed through dispatch, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Allmaras was then placed under arrest.<\/p>\n

Search Allegedly Finds Methamphetamine<\/h2>\n

Police searched Allmaras following his arrest.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Allmaras told the officer he had something inside his right pocket.<\/p>\n

The officer allegedly found a small plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance.<\/p>\n

The substance was tested at the scene.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say the field test returned positive for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

The substance weighed approximately 2.8 grams, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Filed In Clay County<\/h2>\n

Allmaras faces one felony count of fifth-degree controlled substance possession.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n

The case is filed as Clay County court file 14-CR-26-2384.<\/p>\n
