{"id":44163,"date":"2026-08-19T16:24:33","date_gmt":"2026-08-19T21:24:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/?p=44163"},"modified":"2026-08-15T19:16:05","modified_gmt":"2026-08-16T00:16:05","slug":"crookston-woman-faces-3-charges-in-child-drug-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/crookston-woman-faces-3-charges-in-child-drug-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Crookston Woman Faces 3 Charges in Child Drug Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<h2>Crookston Woman Faces 3 Charges in Child Drug Case<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Crookston<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\">trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Crookston woman faces three charges following a July drug investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Jayme Lee Walden, 37, is charged in Polk County District Court.<\/p>\n<p>She faces two felony drug charges and one gross misdemeanor DWI charge.<\/p>\n<p>The case is filed under Polk County court file 60-CR-26-1092.<\/p>\n<h2>Search Warrant Executed At Crookston Home<\/h2>\n<p>A child protection report led police to seek a search warrant for a North Front Street residence.<\/p>\n<p>The report alleged ongoing drug sales involving children living at the home.<\/p>\n<p>Police obtained the warrant and searched the residence on July 30, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Before the search, investigators saw Walden leave the home in a GMC Acadia.<\/p>\n<p>Police contacted her later in a Crookston Walmart parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says Walden initially denied drug activity.<\/p>\n<p>She later allegedly admitted using methamphetamine that morning.<\/p>\n<p>Walden also told investigators that methamphetamine items could be found inside the garage.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align: center; margin: 25px auto;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto; max-width: 500px; width: 199px; height: 265px;\" src=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/WALDEN-JAYME-LEE.jpg\" alt=\"Jayme Lee Walden mugshot\" \/><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">Jayme Lee Walden<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Methamphetamine And Drug Items Reported<\/h2>\n<p>Investigators reported finding suspected methamphetamine, syringes, smoking devices, and other drug-related items.<\/p>\n<p>A black bag allegedly contained about 1.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine.<\/p>\n<p>Police also found a mirror containing residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n<p>A prescription bottle containing Suboxone was also found, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Suboxone contains buprenorphine, which Minnesota classifies as a Schedule III controlled substance.<\/p>\n<h2>Complaint Alleges Children Delivered Suboxone<\/h2>\n<p>After receiving a Miranda warning, Walden provided another statement to investigators.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors allege she admitted that drug sales had occurred from the residence.<\/p>\n<p>Walden allegedly said children had been directed to deliver Suboxone to buyers at the door.<\/p>\n<p>She allegedly told investigators the children were told they were delivering medicine.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says this activity had occurred since March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Walden was arrested and taken to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.<\/p>\n<h2>DWI Charge Also Filed<\/h2>\n<p>Walden also provided a urine sample that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>She had driven earlier that day before police contacted her.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors charged her with third-degree DWI involving a controlled substance.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint cites a previous DWI conviction from 2018 as an aggravating factor.<\/p>\n<p>The most serious drug charge carries up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>It also carries a possible fine of $250,000.<\/p>\n<p>Readers can review <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/152.023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota&#8217;s third-degree controlled substance law<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The child methamphetamine exposure law is available under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/152.137\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Statute 152.137<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.<\/p>\n<p>Walden is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m Adrian Cole reporting for <a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\">TRF News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Copyright 2026 TRF News.
