Lengby Assault Case Brings 3 Charges for Waubun Man<\/h2>\n

Lengby<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Waubun man faces three charges after an alleged assault at a Mahnomen County home.<\/p>\n

Tyson James Keezer, 31, is charged in Mahnomen County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charges include felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.<\/p>\n

He also faces misdemeanor domestic assault and fourth-degree property damage charges.<\/p>\n

The case stems from a July 6, 2026, incident near Lengby.<\/p>\n

Deputies Respond To Reported Assault<\/h2>\n

Deputies responded around 6:38 p.m. to a reported assault at a rural residence.<\/p>\n

Celeste Dale Guinn told investigators that Keezer had been staying at her home.<\/p>\n

Keezer was staying there with his girlfriend, Misty Lee Murray, who is Guinn’s daughter.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, an argument began over Keezer wanting to use Guinn’s truck.<\/p>\n

Guinn alleged Keezer struck her in the head with a lamp during the argument.<\/p>\n

A deputy reported seeing a damaged lamp on the living room floor.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Guinn had a cut about one inch long on her head.<\/p>\n

Blood was also visible on her head, face, and shirt, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Second Blow Alleged Outside Home<\/h2>\n

Guinn told investigators she left the house after the first alleged blow.<\/p>\n

She alleged Keezer then struck her again with a metal pole outside.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say Keezer fled the property while still carrying the pole.<\/p>\n

The complaint also alleges Keezer damaged a door before leaving the residence.<\/p>\n

Guinn said the damage prevented the door from locking properly.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement reported finding damage to the door and its locking area.<\/p>\n

Deputies were unable to conduct a full search for Keezer that evening.<\/p>\n

The complaint cites severe weather and active tornado warnings as limiting the search.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors later requested an arrest warrant because of the felony charge and Guinn’s safety concerns.<\/p>\n

Three Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Keezer faces one felony count of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.<\/p>\n

That charge carries up to seven years in prison and a $14,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The domestic assault count carries up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The property damage charge carries the same maximum jail term and fine.<\/p>\n

The criminal complaint identifies the alleged weapons as a lamp and a metal bar or pole.<\/p>\n
