Bemidji<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Cass Lake woman faces three charges following a reported fight in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

Mearah Ashleigh Aggamway, 23, is charged in Beltrami County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charges include fourth-degree assault of a peace officer. That charge is a gross misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

She also faces misdemeanor charges of obstructing legal process and disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n

Police Called To Bemidji Fight<\/h2>\n

The case began on July 19, 2026, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Police responded to a reported physical fight near 26th Street NW and Park Avenue NW.<\/p>\n

Officers contacted Aggamway and another person identified in court records as N.J.<\/p>\n

The complaint says officers saw apparent blood on Aggamway’s shirt.<\/p>\n

They also noticed a cut on N.J.’s wrist, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

A witness told police that Aggamway was the primary aggressor during the reported fight.<\/p>\n

Police had contacted the parties about 30 minutes earlier for reported disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges Aggamway appeared heavily intoxicated and continued yelling during the second police contact.<\/p>\n

Complaint Alleges Officer Was Kicked<\/h2>\n

Police arrested Aggamway after reviewing witness information and the circumstances at the scene.<\/p>\n

She was handcuffed and placed inside a patrol vehicle.<\/p>\n

An officer then attempted to conduct a preliminary breath test for jail intake procedures.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges Aggamway leaned backward and kicked the officer in the chest.<\/p>\n

The kick reportedly knocked the officer’s body-worn camera to the ground.<\/p>\n

During transport, Aggamway allegedly screamed and tried kicking the patrol vehicle’s rear windows.<\/p>\n

The complaint says she also managed to free one hand from her handcuffs.<\/p>\n

Three Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

At the jail, Aggamway allegedly refused several commands to leave the patrol vehicle.<\/p>\n

Corrections staff then physically removed her from the vehicle, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges she grabbed at staff, kicked, flailed, and resisted during the intake process.<\/p>\n

The fourth-degree assault charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days and a $3,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Each misdemeanor charge carries up to 90 days and a $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n
