Halstad Stolen SUV Found Submerged in Red River<\/h2>\n

Halstad<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A vehicle reported stolen in 2023 has been recovered from the Red River near Halstad.<\/p>\n

A kayaker spotted the submerged vehicle near the Halstad landing on Friday, August 14.<\/p>\n

The Norman County Sheriff\u2019s Office received the report at about 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

Deputies then used a boat to locate the vehicle in the river.<\/p>\n

SUV Found Near Halstad Landing<\/h2>\n

Authorities identified the vehicle as a 2009 Honda Pilot.<\/p>\n

The SUV was completely underwater about 100 yards from the Halstad landing.<\/p>\n

Officials estimated the vehicle was four to six inches below the water\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n

The location required deputies to approach the vehicle by boat before recovery work could begin.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources also responded to assist with the investigation.<\/p>\n

Valley Water Rescue joined authorities at the scene and helped remove the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Vehicle Had Been Reported Stolen<\/h2>\n

Investigators checked the vehicle after it was removed from the river.<\/p>\n

They determined the Honda had been reported stolen sometime in 2023.<\/p>\n

Authorities believe the SUV entered the Red River from the Halstad landing.<\/p>\n

The vehicle apparently drifted a short distance before sinking beneath the surface.<\/p>\n

Officials did not report when the vehicle entered the river.<\/p>\n

They also did not identify who had possession of the Honda before it entered the water.<\/p>\n

No arrest or suspect was announced in connection with the recovery.<\/p>\n

Investigators searched the vehicle and the surrounding area after the recovery.<\/p>\n

No additional evidence was found inside or around the Honda, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
