Waubun Man Faces 5 Charges After Campground Fight<\/h2>\n

Waubun<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Jonah Michael Stalboerger faces five charges after an alleged campground fight in Mahnomen County.<\/p>\n

The incident happened late July 20, 2026, at Little Elbow Lake Campground.<\/p>\n

The charges include domestic assault, property damage, obstruction, fifth-degree assault, and disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n

The allegations are detailed in Mahnomen County District Court file 44-CR-26-418.<\/p>\n

Brothers Reportedly Fight at Campground<\/h2>\n

Law enforcement responded at about 11:46 p.m. after receiving a report of a fight between two brothers.<\/p>\n

Dalton Beyer told investigators that his brother, Stalboerger, had attacked him.<\/p>\n

Stalboerger told authorities that Beyer had punched him first, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Beyer said the dispute began while a group was setting up a tent.<\/p>\n

He alleged Stalboerger became angry because the group was not working fast enough.<\/p>\n

Beyer said Stalboerger swung at him before Beyer swung back.<\/p>\n

Investigators also reported visible damage to Beyer’s motorcycle.<\/p>\n

The damage included a torn seat, dented tank, damaged muffler, footpeg, and side cover.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says Beyer’s tent was damaged.<\/p>\n

Witness Describes Additional Confrontations<\/h2>\n

Witness Alexa Hisgun told investigators that Stalboerger was the aggressor, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

She alleged he pushed over the motorcycle and damaged the tent.<\/p>\n

Hisgun also said Stalboerger pushed Beyer’s 15-year-old nephew.<\/p>\n

The teenager was reportedly trying to separate the brothers.<\/p>\n

TRF News is not identifying the teenager because he is a minor.<\/p>\n

The complaint also alleges Stalboerger pushed Duane Sayers, who uses a wheelchair.<\/p>\n

Stalboerger allegedly admitted drinking beer and brandy before the confrontation.<\/p>\n

Arrest Leads to Obstruction Charge<\/h2>\n

Authorities said Stalboerger became more aggressive when officers attempted to resolve the situation.<\/p>\n

He allegedly refused transportation options and began yelling while other campers were nearby.<\/p>\n

When officers attempted an arrest, Stalboerger allegedly refused to place his hands behind his back.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he struck his head against a vehicle and took a fighting stance.<\/p>\n

Authorities used a Taser before taking him into custody.<\/p>\n

He was later taken for medical clearance after repeatedly striking his head, court records allege.<\/p>\n

Five Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Stalboerger faces gross misdemeanor domestic assault under Minnesota Statute 609.2242<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He also faces third-degree property damage under Minnesota Statute 609.595<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A gross misdemeanor obstruction count cites Minnesota Statute 609.50<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The remaining counts involve fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n

The charges are allegations and do not establish guilt.<\/p>\n

Stalboerger is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
