Crookston Woman Faces Escape, Failure-to-Appear Charges<\/h2>\n

Crookston<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Giselle Lee Lyons faces two felony charges in Polk County.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors accuse Lyons of escape from custody and felony failure to appear for court.<\/p>\n

The allegations stem from a court-approved furlough and a missed hearing on June 9, 2026.<\/p>\n

Lyons was scheduled to appear for another court hearing on June 9.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege she did not attend that hearing.<\/p>\n

The complaint also alleges she had not returned to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported finding no evidence that Lyons was hospitalized or attending inpatient treatment.<\/p>\n

Authorities allege her failure to return was intentional.<\/p>\n

A warrant was then issued for Lyons, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Two Felony Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Count One charges Lyons with felony escape from custody.<\/p>\n

Minnesota Statute 609.485<\/a> includes failing to return after temporary authorized leave.<\/p>\n

Because the underlying custody involved a felony, the charge can carry five years in prison.<\/p>\n

The maximum fine is $10,000.<\/p>\n
