A criminal complaint says a riverboat and trailer disappeared from property near Roseau on July 14.<\/p>\n
Derrick Byfuglien estimated the boat and trailer were worth about $800 together.<\/p>\n
A trail camera recorded a four-wheeler entering the property that evening.<\/p>\n
Minutes later, the camera showed a similar rider leaving while pulling a boat.<\/p>\n
The complaint says a woman later identified the rider as Ryan Tadd Grindahl.<\/p>\n
The identification followed the posting of trail-camera images on Facebook.<\/p>\n
Roxy Kjos later reported seeing a four-wheeler pulling a boat the following morning.<\/p>\n
The ATV was described as having a yellow crate mounted on the front.<\/p>\n
Authorities Stop Grindahl In Roseau<\/h2>\n
Authorities later stopped Grindahl while he was driving an ATV in Roseau.<\/p>\n
The complaint says the ATV matched the description connected to the reported theft.<\/p>\n
His clothing and appearance also allegedly matched the trail-camera images.<\/p>\n
Grindahl reportedly said he believed he had permission to retrieve the boat.<\/p>\n
He said that permission came from Daryl Dahlquist, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n Authorities later learned Dahlquist no longer owned the property involved in the case.<\/p>\n The complaint also states Dahlquist was living in a nursing home.<\/p>\n Grindahl was arrested and taken to the Roseau County Detention Center.<\/p>\n Authorities allegedly found a small bag containing suspected methamphetamine in his pocket.<\/p>\n A field test produced a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n The substance weighed about 0.20 grams.<\/p>\n The complaint says Grindahl later admitted the substance was methamphetamine.<\/p>\n He also directed authorities toward an area where the boat could be found.<\/p>\n Authorities recovered the boat from property belonging to Floyd Grindahl.<\/p>\n The property connected by trail to the area where Ryan Grindahl was staying.<\/p>\n The boat was anchored in a river, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n Its registration stickers had allegedly been spray-painted silver.<\/p>\n A can of silver spray paint was reportedly still inside the boat.<\/p>\n Authorities were unable to locate the missing trailer.<\/p>\n A later search of Grindahl’s property also failed to recover it.<\/p>\n Grindahl faces felony fifth-degree controlled substance possession.<\/p>\n The charge falls under Minnesota Statute 152.025<\/a>.<\/p>\n The complaint also lists a prior drug conviction from July 2025.<\/p>\n Grindahl also faces a gross misdemeanor theft charge.<\/p>\n![\"Ryan](\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/GRINDAHL-RYAN-T-2.jpg\")
