Fargo Driver Dies After Fleeing Traffic Stop<\/h2>\n

FARGO<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A 35-year-old Fargo man died early Saturday after his pickup crashed on Dakota Drive.<\/p>\n

The crash happened around 12:18 a.m. on August 8, 2026. The road was dry and weather conditions were clear.<\/p>\n

The crash involved a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. The driver was wearing a seat belt, according to the news release.<\/p>\n

Police Attempt Traffic Stop<\/h2>\n

Before the crash, Fargo Police tried to stop the driver in the 700 block of Broadway North.<\/p>\n

Police said the man was a known suspended driver. Officers attempted the stop for driving under suspension.<\/p>\n

The driver fled at a high rate of speed, according to the release.<\/p>\n

Fargo Police then ended the attempted traffic stop. Officers did not pursue the Silverado.<\/p>\n

A short time later, an officer found the crashed pickup in the 1500 block of Dakota Drive.<\/p>\n

Pickup Strikes Tree Near Apartments<\/h2>\n

Investigators said the Silverado failed to make a curve. The pickup then struck a tree.<\/p>\n

The vehicle continued between two apartment buildings after hitting the tree.<\/p>\n

Debris from the Silverado also struck an unoccupied Honda Element.<\/p>\n

The Honda suffered extensive damage. No occupants were inside the vehicle when it was struck.<\/p>\n

The Silverado’s driver died at the scene from injuries suffered in the crash.<\/p>\n

Authorities did not identify the driver in the release. No other injuries were reported in the information provided Saturday.<\/p>\n

Crash Remains Under Investigation<\/h2>\n

The North Dakota State Patrol<\/a> is investigating the fatal crash.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Police Department<\/a> also responded to the scene.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Fire Department<\/a> and Sanford Ambulance assisted at the crash.<\/p>\n

The State Patrol classified the incident as a single-vehicle crash involving a fixed object.<\/p>\n

Officials did not release additional information about the driver’s speed.<\/p>\n

The release also did not state whether alcohol or drugs were suspected.<\/p>\n

The crash remains under investigation. More information could be released as investigators complete their work.<\/p>\n
