Traffic and Public Safety Calls<\/h2>\n
On July 31, a person reported harassment in Red Lake Falls. The incident had reportedly happened earlier that morning.<\/p>\n
Later that day, Jayme Jay Giwoyna, 51, of Wahpeton, North Dakota, was cited for speeding. The stop happened on County Road 1 east of Plummer.<\/p>\n
On August 1, a Red Lake Falls resident reported stolen property. The property was later found. Authorities determined the matter was not criminal.<\/p>\n
That evening, Matthew Soderquist, 20, of Grand Forks, was cited for misdemeanor minor consumption. The vehicle had been stopped for speeding west of Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n
On August 2, deputies responded to a loose cow near Highway 32. The animal was returned to its pen.<\/p>\n
Theft, Animal, and Utility Reports<\/h2>\n
On August 3, a Plummer resident reported a theft. That case remained under investigation in the sheriff\u2019s weekly report.<\/p>\n
That evening, a tan pit bull was reported loose in Red Lake Falls. The dog was taken to the pound in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n
On August 4, authorities received a possible assault report from Plummer. The incident had reportedly happened the previous night.<\/p>\n
The case remained under investigation.<\/p>\n
Also that morning, smoke was reported from an electrical box behind the Red Lake Falls mall.<\/p>\n
Otter Tail Power Company<\/a> responded and repaired the problem.<\/p>\n On August 5, a person reported losing a black satchel purse at The Landing.<\/p>\n The purse contained a black wallet and identification.<\/p>\n A domestic dispute was also reported in Oklee that evening. A deputy helped mediate the dispute.<\/p>\n Shortly after midnight on August 6, a grease gun was found near Highways 59 and 92 in Brooks.<\/p>\n The owner may contact the Red Lake County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n On August 6, a pickup struck the rear of a slower tractor and implement on Highway 92.<\/p>\n Both vehicles were traveling east. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n The pickup, tractor, and mower sustained severe damage.<\/p>\n Tyler Gregory Randolph Sandahl, 28, of Brooks, was cited for misdemeanor careless driving.<\/p>\n The pickup was towed from the scene.<\/p>\n The Minnesota Department of Transportation<\/a> was expected to remove the tractor and mower.<\/p>\n Later on August 6, authorities responded to a domestic disturbance in Poplar River Township.<\/p>\n Investigators alleged an ex-husband forced his way into an occupied home.<\/p>\n He was also accused of threatening occupants with a hatchet.<\/p>\n Jesus Octavio Peralta, 49, of Erskine, was later located in McIntosh.<\/p>\n He was arrested with assistance from the Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n Peralta was booked in Crookston on felony burglary and felony assault allegations.<\/p>\n He also faced a misdemeanor domestic assault allegation.<\/p>\n His first court appearance was scheduled for August 7.<\/p>\n Case information may be available through the Minnesota Judicial Branch<\/a>.<\/p>\nHighway 92 Crash Causes Heavy Damage<\/h2>\n
