The case involves alleged incidents with family members.<\/p>\n<p>Cory Will Hanson, 35, is charged in Polk County District Court with pattern of stalking conduct. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing the legal process.<\/p>\n<p>The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. It also carries a possible $20,000 fine.<\/p>\n<h2>Complaint Details Repeated Contact<\/h2>\n<p>According to the criminal complaint, the alleged conduct happened between June 14 and July 15, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors allege Hanson repeatedly contacted or approached two family members despite warnings and court restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says Hanson had been barred from two East Grand Forks homes. One belonged to his father, and the other belonged to his mother.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities also allege Hanson violated a domestic violence no-contact order. That order protected his father and another person.<\/p>\n<p>The order reportedly required Hanson to remain at least 300 feet from his father\u2019s home.<\/p>\n<h2>False Emergency Calls Alleged<\/h2>\n<p>The complaint says emergency crews responded to two reported medical emergencies on July 16.<\/p>\n<p>First responders found no medical emergency at either location, according to court records.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators identified Hanson as the caller connected to one report. He allegedly said another person had told him help was needed.<\/p>\n<p>Officers warned Hanson not to visit his mother\u2019s home. The complaint says he walked away and resisted officers.<\/p>\n<p>Officers eventually placed him in handcuffs. He was transported to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.<\/p>\n<p>The obstruction charge carries up to 90 days in jail. It also carries a possible $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint describes several earlier contacts involving alleged trespassing, unwanted visits, and vehicles parked near family homes.<\/p>\n<p>Family members told investigators that the behavior affected their sleep.
