Bena Woman Charged in $232 Check Forgery Case<\/h2>\n

Bena (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Bena woman was charged in Cass County over an alleged $232 forged check.<\/p>\n

Kristen Lavern White was charged with offering or possessing a forged check with intent to defraud.<\/p>\n

The alleged offense happened on May 12, 2023, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

The case was filed in Cass County District Court under court file 11-CR-23-1613.<\/p>\n

Charge and Possible Penalty<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors alleged White offered the forged check with intent to defraud.<\/p>\n

She was charged under Minnesota Statute 609.631<\/a>, subdivision 3.<\/p>\n

The law covers offering a forged check or possessing one with intent to offer it.<\/p>\n

The complaint classified the count as a gross misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

A conviction could bring up to 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It could also bring a fine of up to $3,000.<\/p>\n
