Bemidji Woman Charged After Knife Threat Report<\/h2>\n

Bemidji<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Bemidji woman faces a felony charge after an alleged knife threat near the city library.<\/p>\n

Shayron Jaicoby White, 24, was charged in Beltrami County District Court with threats of violence.<\/p>\n

The charge involves reckless disregard for the risk of causing terror in another person.<\/p>\n

The alleged incident happened shortly after midnight on July 9, 2026.<\/p>\n

Witnesses Reported Knife Threat<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, police received a report of a woman screaming near the Bemidji Public Library.<\/p>\n

The caller said a woman displayed a knife and threatened to stab her.<\/p>\n

The woman then reportedly ran north from the area.<\/p>\n

Police were given a description of a woman wearing a black top and tan pants.<\/p>\n

The woman was also reported to be carrying a backpack.<\/p>\n

Officers later found White behind a church on America Avenue.<\/p>\n

White initially denied that anything had happened, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

She later said she had found a knife but had left it somewhere.<\/p>\n

Suspect Denied Making Threat<\/h2>\n

White told police she had argued with people outside the library area.<\/p>\n

She said the argument began while she was crying near the Wolfe Center.<\/p>\n

White claimed the other people told her to be quiet.<\/p>\n

She said she told them to stay away from her.<\/p>\n

White also claimed someone threatened to spray her with mace.<\/p>\n

She denied saying that she would stab anyone.<\/p>\n

However, two witnesses gave a different account to investigators.<\/p>\n

They said they approached White after hearing her scream.<\/p>\n

The witnesses told police they saw White holding a long knife.<\/p>\n

They also alleged that White threatened to stab them.<\/p>\n

The complaint states that White later admitted a knife was inside her backpack.<\/p>\n

Officers then located the knife, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

White is charged under Minnesota Statute 609.713<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A conviction may carry up to five years in prison.<\/p>\n

The charge also allows a fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n

Court records list the case as Beltrami County Court File 04-CR-26-1579.<\/p>\n

The complaint also notes two convictions entered on July 1, 2026.<\/p>\n

Those convictions involved disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process.<\/p>\n

A criminal charge is only an accusation.<\/p>\n

White is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
