Mahnomen Woman Charged After Highway 113 Stop<\/h2>\n

MAHNOMEN COUNTY<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A White Earth woman faces a gross misdemeanor charge following a traffic stop in Mahnomen County.<\/p>\n

Shantel Rae Hanks, 27, has been charged with driving after license cancellation. Court records say her driving privileges were canceled as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

The charge was filed in Minnesota\u2019s Ninth Judicial District Court. The case is listed under court file number 44-CR-26-355.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop On Highway 113<\/h2>\n

The alleged offense happened on June 2, 2026, along Minnesota Highway 113.<\/p>\n

According to the criminal complaint, a vehicle was traveling 67 mph in a 55 mph zone. A law enforcement officer then stopped the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Hanks was identified as the driver, according to the complaint. A records check showed her license had been canceled.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges Hanks knew, or had reason to know, about the cancellation.<\/p>\n

Gross Misdemeanor Charge<\/h2>\n

Hanks is charged under Minnesota Statute 171.24<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The offense is classified as a gross misdemeanor under state law.<\/p>\n

A conviction could bring up to 364 days in jail. The court could also impose a fine of up to $3,000.<\/p>\n

The complaint is based on probable cause. It does not represent a finding of guilt.<\/p>\n

Hanks is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. The case will move through the Mahnomen County court system.<\/p>\n
