OGEMA, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 An Ogema man faces a felony drug charge following a traffic stop in Mahnomen County.<\/p>\n

Grant William Lafrinier, 39, is charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n

The charge was filed in Minnesota\u2019s Ninth Judicial District Court in Mahnomen County.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege Lafrinier possessed a substance containing methamphetamine on June 26, 2026.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Followed Active Warrant<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement saw Lafrinier inside a pickup truck at about 4:47 p.m.<\/p>\n

The truck was parked in a residential driveway in Mahnomen County.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Polk County had issued an active warrant for Lafrinier.<\/p>\n

The warrant followed his alleged failure to attend a court hearing on June 25.<\/p>\n

An officer stopped the pickup after it left the property.<\/p>\n

Lafrinier was told about the warrant and was then taken into custody.<\/p>\n

The bag contained a white, crystal-like substance, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Authorities transported Lafrinier to the Mahnomen County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The substance later tested positive for methamphetamine, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported a total weight of 2.1 grams, including the plastic packaging.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Carries Possible Prison Time<\/h2>\n

Fifth-degree controlled substance possession is a felony under Minnesota Statute 152.025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A conviction may bring up to five years in prison.<\/p>\n

The maximum fine is $10,000, according to the filed complaint.<\/p>\n

Court records also describe a 2025 stay of adjudication in another fifth-degree drug case.<\/p>\n
