Crookston Warrant Issued in Felony Court Case<\/h2>\n

CROOKSTON, Minnesota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Grand Forks man faces a felony charge after allegedly missing a required court hearing.<\/p>\n

Roberto Carlos Lopez Jr., 23, is charged with felony failure to appear in Polk County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charge was filed in Minnesota\u2019s Ninth Judicial District under Court File No. 60-CR-26-541.<\/p>\n

A warrant has also been issued for Lopez, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Earlier Felony Property Case<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Lopez appeared in Polk County District Court on May 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

That appearance involved a separate first-degree criminal damage to property charge.<\/p>\n

The earlier charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. It also carries a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The court set bail at $800 cash or an $8,000 bond.<\/p>\n

A judge then issued a warrant for his arrest.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Lopez\u2019s location was unknown when the document was prepared. It also lists him under active warrant status.<\/p>\n

The formal charge section lists an offense date of May 15, 2025. However, the probable cause section identifies December 11, 2025.<\/p>\n

The reason for the difference was not explained in the complaint.<\/p>\n

A felony failure-to-appear conviction may bring up to 30 months in prison. It may also bring a $5,000 fine.<\/p>\n
