Bena Woman Charged After Meth Found in Purse<\/h2>\n

BENA, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Bena woman faces a felony drug charge after methamphetamine was allegedly found inside her purse.<\/p>\n

Leah Marie White has been charged with fifth-degree drug possession in Cass County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charge is a felony under Minnesota Statute 152.025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A criminal complaint alleges the incident happened on June 28, 2026, in Cass County.<\/p>\n

White is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n

Deputies Called to Bena Residence<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, deputies were called to a home in Bena.<\/p>\n

A family gathering connected to a funeral was taking place at the residence.<\/p>\n

Callers reported that White was causing problems and would not leave.<\/p>\n

The complaint says her actions and comments raised concerns about the group\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n

A deputy removed White from the residence after she packed belongings into a duffel bag.<\/p>\n

Authorities then learned White was on probation.<\/p>\n

Probation officials requested a drug test based on information gathered during the call.<\/p>\n

Test Allegedly Detects Methamphetamine<\/h2>\n

White was taken to the Cass County Law Enforcement Center for testing.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the urine test was positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine, and THC.<\/p>\n

Corrections staff later searched White\u2019s belongings at the facility.<\/p>\n

They allegedly found a small plastic bag inside her purse.<\/p>\n

The bag contained a white crystal-like substance, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

A field test allegedly showed the substance contained methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

Authorities reported that the substance weighed about 0.43 grams.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors allege White possessed a mixture containing methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

Methamphetamine is listed as a Schedule II controlled substance under Minnesota law.<\/p>\n

The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n

The court may impose either punishment or both after a conviction.<\/p>\n
