Bemidji Man Charged After License Violation Stop<\/h2>\n

Beltrami County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Bemidji man is facing gross misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop led to allegations that he drove without required license restrictions.<\/p>\n

David Allan Beaulieu, 40, of Bemidji, is charged in Beltrami County District Court with driving without a required ignition interlock device and driving after his license was canceled as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Leads To Charges<\/h2>\n

Court documents state the incident happened on July 6, 2026, in Beltrami County.<\/p>\n

According to the criminal complaint, Beaulieu was stopped near L&M Fleet after a report of a driver holding a cellular device while driving.<\/p>\n

During the stop, Beaulieu reportedly told authorities his license was revoked.<\/p>\n

A records check showed his driving status was listed as canceled due to being inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

The complaint states his driving record also showed a requirement for an ignition interlock device.<\/p>\n

Authorities allege the vehicle Beaulieu was driving did not have a functioning ignition interlock device installed.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed In Beltrami County Court<\/h2>\n

Beaulieu faces one count of driving a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device.<\/p>\n

That charge is listed as a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota law.<\/p>\n

He also faces a charge of driving after cancellation of driving privileges due to public safety concerns.<\/p>\n

The second charge is also listed as a gross misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, each gross misdemeanor charge carries possible penalties of jail time and fines.<\/p>\n

The maximum penalty for the ignition interlock charge is up to 364 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n
