{"id":39074,"date":"2026-07-25T18:50:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-25T23:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/?p=39074"},"modified":"2026-07-20T20:47:03","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T01:47:03","slug":"pine-river-man-charged-with-dwi-after-traffic-stop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/pine-river-man-charged-with-dwi-after-traffic-stop\/","title":{"rendered":"Pine River Man Charged With DWI After Traffic Stop"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Pine River Man Charged With DWI After Traffic Stop<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Cass County<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\">trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Brainerd man is facing DWI charges after a traffic stop near Pine River in Cass County.<\/p>\n<p>Court records show Cole Matthew Ostrowski, 24, of Brainerd, was charged with two counts of gross misdemeanor DWI.<\/p>\n<p>The charges stem from an incident reported on June 19, 2026, on State Highway 371 north of Pine River.<\/p>\n<h2>Traffic Complaint Leads To Stop<\/h2>\n<p>According to the criminal complaint, authorities received a report about a white truck pulling a camper.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle was reportedly traveling on Highway 371 in Cass County.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint states the truck crossed the center line and later moved back toward the fog line.<\/p>\n<p>A traffic stop was then conducted.<\/p>\n<p>Ostrowski was identified as the driver of the truck.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint states investigators noticed signs of possible alcohol impairment.<\/p>\n<p>It alleges Ostrowski had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech.<\/p>\n<p>An open can of Busch Light beer was also reportedly found inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Mugshot Image Center --><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 400px;\" src=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Ostrowski-Cole-Matthew.png\" alt=\"Cole Matthew Ostrowski mugshot\" \/><em>Cole Matthew Ostrowski mugshot<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>High Alcohol Reading Alleged<\/h2>\n<p>The complaint states Ostrowski told authorities he had consumed three beers at the Side Track.<\/p>\n<p>Field sobriety testing was then conducted, according to court documents.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint alleges the tests showed multiple signs of impairment.<\/p>\n<p>A preliminary breath test reportedly showed an alcohol concentration of .177.<\/p>\n<p>A later breath test at the Law Enforcement Center in Walker allegedly showed a .19 alcohol concentration.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota law considers driving with an alcohol concentration of .08 or higher a DWI offense.<\/p>\n<p>More information about Minnesota DWI laws can be found through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/169A\">Minnesota Legislature website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Previous DWI Listed In Court Records<\/h2>\n<p>The complaint states Ostrowski has a prior impaired driving conviction within the past 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>Court records list a Cass County DWI conviction entered in August 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Because of the alleged prior conviction and reported alcohol level, prosecutors charged the case with aggravating factors.<\/p>\n<p>The charges include operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration of .08 or higher within two hours of driving.<\/p>\n<p>The second charge alleges operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>Both charges are gross misdemeanors.<\/p>\n<p>A gross misdemeanor in Minnesota can carry penalties of up to 364 days in jail and a fine of up to $3,000.<\/p>\n<p>All charges are allegations, and Ostrowski is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n<p>Court documents are available through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mncourts.gov\">Minnesota Judicial Branch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m Adrian Cole reporting for <a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\">TRF News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 TRF News.
