Detroit Lakes Man Charged With DWI After Traffic Stop<\/h2>\n

Becker County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Detroit Lakes man is facing a gross misdemeanor DWI charge after a June traffic stop in Becker County.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Michael Ray Bonaime, 76, of Detroit Lakes, was charged in Becker County District Court with driving under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n

The charge stems from an incident reported on June 7, 2026. Court records state the offense involved an aggravating factor because of Bonaime\u2019s prior DWI history.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Led To DWI Investigation<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, a vehicle was observed traveling after 9 p.m. without headlights or taillights.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was identified as Michael Ray Bonaime.<\/p>\n

During the contact, officials reported Bonaime had difficulty removing his driver\u2019s license from his wallet.<\/p>\n

Officials reported that a later breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of .10.<\/p>\n
