Man Faces Four Criminal Charges<\/h2>\n
Madison David McArdle, 41, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, has been charged in Polk County District Court.<\/p>\n
The charges include second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, felony child endangerment, criminal vehicular operation causing bodily harm, and third-degree DWI.<\/p>\n
The charges stem from an incident reported on July 4, 2026, in Polk County.<\/p>\n
Court documents state McArdle allegedly assaulted J.H. using a moving vehicle during a domestic dispute.<\/p>\n
Alleged Assault Involved Vehicle<\/h2>\n
According to the criminal complaint, J.H. reported that she, McArdle, and their four-year-old daughter had attended a barbecue in Grand Forks.<\/p>\n
The complaint states that an argument began while they were returning home.<\/p>\n
After arriving at the residence, J.H. told McArdle he needed to leave.<\/p>\n
She attempted to remove their child from the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The complaint alleges McArdle put the vehicle into reverse while the door was open.<\/p>\n
J.H. reported she was knocked down and struck by the vehicle door.<\/p>\n
She also reported being partially run over.<\/p>\n
The complaint states J.H. suffered injuries including abrasions, bruising, and pain.<\/p>\n
Child Endangerment Charge Filed<\/h2>\n
Prosecutors also allege McArdle endangered the couple\u2019s young child during the incident.<\/p>\n
The complaint states the child was present during the reported confrontation.<\/p>\n
Officials allege the situation created a risk of substantial harm to the child.<\/p>\n
DWI Investigation<\/h2>\n
Authorities later located McArdle driving a silver Toyota Scion near East Grand Forks.<\/p>\n
During the traffic stop, officers reported signs of alcohol use.<\/p>\n
The complaint states that McArdle admitted drinking alcohol before driving.<\/p>\n
A preliminary breath test reportedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of .231.<\/p>\n
A later breath test reportedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.24.<\/p>\n
Minnesota law considers a driver with a blood alcohol concentration of .16 or higher to have an aggravating factor for DWI purposes.<\/p>\n
McArdle was arrested and transported to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.<\/p>\n
Previous DWI Conviction Listed<\/h2>\n
Court records state McArdle previously had a North Dakota conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in 2014.<\/p>\n
The current charges remain allegations, and McArdle is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
