Warroad Man Charged With Felony Threats<\/h2>\n

Roseau County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Warroad man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after authorities say he made threats during an ongoing vehicle dispute.<\/p>\n

Larry James Demuth, 21, of Warroad, is charged in Roseau County District Court with felony threats of violence and making an emergency call without an emergency.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from an incident reported on July 1, 2026. Court documents state Demuth was involved in a dispute involving a vehicle with another person.<\/p>\n

Vehicle Dispute Leads To Police Call<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, Demuth contacted law enforcement about his vehicle being stolen.<\/p>\n

Authorities said there had been an ongoing civil dispute over ownership and possession of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Investigators allege Demuth said he planned to take the vehicle back himself.<\/p>\n

The complaint states that Demuth made statements threatening violence toward the other party during a phone conversation with police.<\/p>\n

Authorities advised Demuth that the vehicle issue needed to be handled through civil court.<\/p>\n

911 Call Leads To Additional Charge<\/h2>\n

The complaint states that Demuth later called 911 about the same dispute.<\/p>\n

Investigators allege the recorded emergency call included additional threats against the other party.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Demuth knew there was no emergency involving police, fire, medical, or ambulance services.<\/p>\n

Because of that, prosecutors charged him with making an emergency call when no emergency existed.<\/p>\n

The threat of violence charge is a felony under Minnesota law.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a possible maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The emergency call charge is a misdemeanor with a possible sentence of up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Arrest And Court Proceedings<\/h2>\n

Court records state that officers responded to Demuth\u2019s residence after the reported threats.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Demuth resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody.<\/p>\n

The case remains pending in Roseau County District Court.<\/p>\n
