Pelican Rapids Woman Charged Over Vehicle Registration<\/h2>\n

Otter Tail County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Pelican Rapids woman is facing charges after prosecutors say she operated a vehicle that was not properly registered.<\/p>\n

Vehicle Registration Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Naomi Kreig Marti, 47, of Pelican Rapids, is charged in Otter Tail County District Court.<\/p>\n

Court records show Marti faces a gross misdemeanor charge for allegedly failing to update the registration on a 2024 GMC Sierra.<\/p>\n

She also faces a misdemeanor charge for allegedly operating an unregistered vehicle on public roads.<\/p>\n

The charges are connected to events reported between January 1, 2023, and May 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

Investigation Begins During Domestic Call<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement responded to a reported domestic disturbance on May 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

The call was at a residence on Bass Harbor Trail in Otter Tail County.<\/p>\n

During the investigation, officers contacted Marti while she was driving a 2024 GMC Sierra.<\/p>\n

The complaint states the vehicle displayed a plate marked \u201cExempt Private Property\u201d with the number AQUA-AZ.<\/p>\n

The plate also included wording about private travel and non-commercial use.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the vehicle had only received temporary registration from the dealership in 2023.<\/p>\n

They determined the vehicle had not been properly registered after that temporary period ended.<\/p>\n

Daily Driving Reported<\/h2>\n

The complaint states Marti acknowledged driving the pickup regularly.<\/p>\n

She reportedly said she drove it every school day to a bus stop in Dunvilla.<\/p>\n

Investigators also reported receiving a previous letter from Marti regarding the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the letter requested that the truck be placed on a \u201cdo not stop, do not detain\u201d list.<\/p>\n

Court Case Pending<\/h2>\n

The gross misdemeanor charge carries a possible maximum penalty of up to 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

All charges are allegations, and Marti is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
