Detroit Lakes Man Charged Over Vehicle Registration<\/h2>\n

Detroit Lakes ( trfnews.i234.me<\/a> )<\/strong> \u2014 A Detroit Lakes man is facing criminal charges after a traffic investigation led to allegations involving vehicle registration and insurance requirements.<\/p>\n

Zachariah John Beaupre, 30, of Detroit Lakes, is charged in Becker County District Court with intent to escape taxation and failure to provide proof of insurance.<\/p>\n

The charges are listed in a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota\u2019s 7th Judicial District Court. The allegations have not been proven in court.<\/p>\n

Expired Registration Leads to Investigation<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the incident happened on April 8, 2026, in Detroit Lakes.<\/p>\n

Authorities said a 2006 Pontiac G6 was observed near Roosevelt Avenue and Dynamic Homes. The vehicle reportedly had Minnesota plates with registration that expired in April 2025.<\/p>\n

The complaint states the vehicle later entered the Dynamic Homes parking lot. Officials contacted the driver, identified as Beaupre.<\/p>\n

Beaupre allegedly told authorities he purchased the vehicle about a year earlier. He reportedly had not transferred the title into his name.<\/p>\n

The complaint states that the previous registered owner said the vehicle had been sold to Beaupre about two years earlier.<\/p>\n

Insurance Allegation<\/h2>\n

According to court documents, Beaupre told authorities the vehicle did not have insurance coverage.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges he did not have proof of insurance available when requested.<\/p>\n

Minnesota law requires drivers to maintain proper insurance coverage and provide proof when required by law enforcement.<\/p>\n
