Audubon Man Charged Over Expired Truck Registration<\/h2>\n

Audubon County ( trfnews.i234.me<\/a> )<\/strong> \u2014 A Callaway man is facing charges after authorities say he drove a truck with expired registration and without active insurance.<\/p>\n

According to court documents filed in Becker County District Court, Blake Anthony Molacek, 26, of Callaway, Minnesota, has been charged in connection with a May 27, 2026, traffic stop in Audubon.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed in Becker County Court<\/h2>\n

Molacek faces a gross misdemeanor charge of intent to escape taxation involving a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

He also faces a misdemeanor charge for failure to provide proof of insurance.<\/p>\n

The charges were filed in Minnesota District Court in Becker County under court file number 03-CR-26-1104.<\/p>\n

The vehicle involved was a 1992 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Authorities allege the truck\u2019s registration expired in March 2025.<\/p>\n

The complaint states the truck also did not have a front license plate.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Leads to Investigation<\/h2>\n

Court documents say officials observed the pickup traveling northbound on Sixth Street near Plover Street in Audubon.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was stopped after officials noticed registration issues.<\/p>\n

During the stop, the driver was identified as Blake Anthony Molacek.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, Molacek told authorities the truck was registered and insured through Progressive.<\/p>\n

Officials then checked Minnesota Department of Public Safety records.<\/p>\n

The records showed the truck registration had expired in March 2025.<\/p>\n

Officials also contacted Progressive regarding insurance coverage.<\/p>\n

The complaint states the company reported the truck was not insured.<\/p>\n

Possible Penalties<\/h2>\n

The charge involving motor vehicle taxation carries a possible maximum penalty of up to 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The insurance-related charge carries a possible maximum penalty of up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n

All charges are allegations, and Molacek is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
