Cass County Woman Faces Felony Drug Charge<\/h2>\n

Cass County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Minneapolis woman faces a felony drug charge after an arrest on an outstanding warrant.<\/p>\n

Cherice Marie Williams, 37, is charged with fifth-degree controlled substance possession. The charge was filed in Cass County District Court.<\/p>\n

The criminal complaint alleges Williams possessed substances containing fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine.<\/p>\n

The reported incident happened on May 9, 2026.<\/p>\n

Arrest Followed Outstanding Warrant<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, Bemidji police took Williams into custody at about 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

Authorities said she had an outstanding Cass County warrant for failing to appear in court.<\/p>\n

Williams had two bags when officers took her into custody. She was transported to the Cass County Detention Center.<\/p>\n

Jail staff searched Williams during the booking process. The complaint says they found a folded blue note containing powder.<\/p>\n

The material weighed about 0.06 grams, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Williams reportedly told authorities the powder came from medication she had crushed.<\/p>\n

More Substances Allegedly Found<\/h2>\n

Authorities then searched Williams\u2019 bags, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Inside a purse, staff allegedly found a small blue pouch containing foil and suspected drug items.<\/p>\n

A folded piece of foil contained a white powder, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

A field test reportedly showed the substance contained fentanyl. It weighed about 0.03 grams.<\/p>\n

Staff later found a folded $5 bill during another search, according to court records.<\/p>\n

The bill allegedly contained about one gram of white powder.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported that the material tested positive for cocaine hydrochloride, freebase cocaine, and crack cocaine.<\/p>\n

Williams again said the substances were crushed medications, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Charge Carries Possible Prison Term<\/h2>\n

Fifth-degree drug possession is a felony under Minnesota Statute 152.025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A conviction may carry up to five years in prison. It may also bring a fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n

The charge is an allegation. Williams is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
