Twin Valley Man Faces Felony Assault Charge<\/h2>\n

Norman County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Twin Valley man faces two domestic assault charges after an alleged incident at a rural Norman County home.<\/p>\n

Desman Richard Hartman, 36, was charged in Norman County District Court. He faces one felony and one misdemeanor count.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from an alleged incident on March 26, 2025.<\/p>\n

Hartman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n

Felony Strangulation Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Complaint Describes Alleged Argument<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, law enforcement responded to a reported domestic disturbance.<\/p>\n

The alleged victim was at the home when a deputy arrived. Hartman had already left the property.<\/p>\n

The victim told authorities that Hartman had consumed alcohol before the argument began.<\/p>\n

The couple reportedly had a rule requiring him to sleep downstairs after drinking.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Hartman objected and tried to enter the bedroom.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege Hartman then struck the victim twice with a closed fist.<\/p>\n

A responding deputy reported seeing swelling and bruising near the victim\u2019s left cheekbone.<\/p>\n

A witness allegedly heard the argument and sounds of the victim being struck.<\/p>\n

The witness then reported seeing Hartman\u2019s hands around the victim\u2019s neck.<\/p>\n

The victim reportedly said she was unable to breathe during the incident.<\/p>\n

Second Charge Is a Misdemeanor<\/h2>\n

Hartman also faces misdemeanor domestic assault.<\/p>\n

That count alleges he intentionally caused or tried to cause bodily harm.<\/p>\n

The misdemeanor carries up to 90 days in jail. It also carries a possible $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n
