Perham Man Charged After Alleged Home Break-In<\/h2>\n

PERHAM, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A North Dakota man faces four charges after an alleged break-in at a Perham home.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Lee Allard, 44, of Mandan, North Dakota, is charged in Otter Tail County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charges include first-degree burglary, fifth-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and trespassing.<\/p>\n

The burglary charge is a felony. It carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $35,000 fine, according to Minnesota law.<\/p>\n

Resident Reports Forced Entry<\/h2>\n

The incident happened around 9:23 p.m. on June 16, 2026, court records state.<\/p>\n

Police were sent to a home at Pine Cone Park after a reported break-in.<\/p>\n

A resident told officers he was watching soccer when the front door suddenly opened.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges Allard entered the home without permission.<\/p>\n

The resident said the man grabbed his shoulder after entering the living room.<\/p>\n

The resident pushed him away and repeatedly ordered him to leave.<\/p>\n

However, the man allegedly continued pushing farther into the home.<\/p>\n

Child Was Inside the Home<\/h2>\n

A juvenile girl heard the disturbance and entered the living room, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

The man then allegedly moved toward her and her bedroom.<\/p>\n

The resident stepped between them and continued pushing the man away.<\/p>\n

He eventually forced the man outside the residence, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Officers located Allard walking away from the area shortly after the reported incident.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says police had contacted him earlier that day.<\/p>\n

He had allegedly been intoxicated and bothering customers at a local McDonald\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Four Criminal Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

First-degree burglary applies when someone enters an occupied home without permission.<\/p>\n

The fifth-degree assault charge alleges conduct intended to cause fear of immediate harm.<\/p>\n

The remaining misdemeanor charges each carry up to 90 days in jail.<\/p>\n

Each misdemeanor also carries a possible fine of up to $1,000.<\/p>\n
