Kensal Motorcycle Crash Leaves Rider Critical<\/h2>\n

FOSTER COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Carrington man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday evening in a motorcycle crash west of Kensal.<\/p>\n

The single-vehicle crash happened around 7:19 p.m. on July 17, 2026.<\/p>\n

It occurred on Highway 9 near mile marker 13, according to the North Dakota State Patrol.<\/p>\n

Motorcycle Left Highway 9<\/h2>\n

Three motorcycles were traveling east on Highway 9 before the crash.<\/p>\n

A 1994 Harley-Davidson left the road and entered the south ditch.<\/p>\n

The motorcycle then struck a driveway approach and rolled.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old rider was thrown from the motorcycle during the crash.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the man suffered injuries considered life-threatening.<\/p>\n

Carrington Ambulance Service transported him to a hospital in Carrington.<\/p>\n

He was later flown to Sanford Medical Center Fargo<\/a> for further treatment.<\/p>\n

Rider Was Not Wearing a Helmet<\/h2>\n

The patrol reported that the rider was not wearing a helmet.<\/p>\n

Investigators also said he did not have a motorcycle endorsement.<\/p>\n

North Dakota provides information about motorcycle permits and endorsements through the Department of Transportation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The road was dry when the crash happened.<\/p>\n

Weather conditions were clear, according to the release.<\/p>\n

No other motorcycles were reported damaged during the incident.<\/p>\n

No other injuries were listed in the initial report.<\/p>\n

Crash Remains Under Investigation<\/h2>\n

The North Dakota State Patrol is leading the investigation.<\/p>\n

The Foster County Sheriff\u2019s Department and Carrington Ambulance Service also responded.<\/p>\n

Any possible charges remain under investigation.<\/p>\n
