Karlstad Man Killed in Kittson County Crash<\/h2>\n

Kittson County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Karlstad man died Monday evening after a rollover crash on a rural Kittson County road, according to the Minnesota State Patrol<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Authorities identified the victim as Michael John Colliflower, 68, of Karlstad<\/strong>. He was pronounced dead at the scene after his pickup truck left the roadway and rolled over.<\/p>\n

Crash Happened on Rural Road<\/h2>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened at about 7:21 p.m. Monday.<\/p>\n

According to the preliminary investigation, Colliflower was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 westbound on 105th Avenue. Investigators believe the pickup was traveling at a high rate of speed.<\/p>\n

As the truck approached the curve at 490th Avenue, it continued off the roadway and rolled over.<\/p>\n

Emergency responders arrived a short time later. Colliflower died at the scene from injuries suffered in the crash.<\/p>\n

Seat Belt Not Worn<\/h2>\n

The State Patrol reported that Colliflower was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n

Investigators also said alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the incident.<\/p>\n

The crash remains under investigation. Officials have not released any additional information about possible contributing factors.<\/p>\n

Emergency Response<\/h2>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol<\/a> led the investigation into the crash.<\/p>\n

The Kittson County Sheriff’s Office<\/a> also responded to the scene and assisted with emergency operations.<\/p>\n

Traffic crashes remain a serious concern across Minnesota each year. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety reminds drivers to slow down, wear seat belts, and stay alert on rural roads where sharp curves and higher speeds can increase the risk of deadly crashes.<\/p>\n

Investigators will continue reviewing evidence before issuing a final report. No additional details were immediately available.<\/p>\n
