He also faces a misdemeanor fleeing charge.<\/p>\n<p>The case was filed under court number 56-CR-26-1427.<\/p>\n<h2>Assault Reported at Campground<\/h2>\n<p>The incident was reported at about 6:50 p.m. on June 16, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Police responded to Sherin Park and Campground at 221 East Mill Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>A woman reported that Beery assaulted her inside and outside a camper, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint alleges Beery threw a box fan at the woman twice. It also alleges he strangled her inside the camper.<\/p>\n<p>The woman reportedly escaped from the camper and went outside. Beery then allegedly threw her onto the ground.<\/p>\n<p>She told investigators that he strangled her again. She said breathing became difficult during the alleged attacks.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center; margin: 30px auto;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"display: block; margin: 0 auto; max-width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Beery-Ryan-John.jpg\" alt=\"Ryan John Beery mugshot\" \/><em>Ryan John Beery<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Woman Reported Several Injuries<\/h2>\n<p>The woman said she was strangled three times during the incident.<\/p>\n<p>An officer reported seeing redness and bruising around her neck.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint also describes scrapes and bruises on her knees and legs.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators reported a large bump on the back of her head. The woman also complained of pain in that area.<\/p>\n<p>She sought help at Pelican Valley Senior Living after leaving the campground.<\/p>\n<h2>Suspect Allegedly Left on Bicycle<\/h2>\n<p>Police said Beery rode away on a bicycle as an officer approached the camper.<\/p>\n<p>The officer activated emergency lights and ordered him to stop.<\/p>\n<p>Beery allegedly increased his speed and entered an area the squad car could not reach.<\/p>\n<p>Officers and deputies searched for him but could not find him that evening.<\/p>\n<p>Beery returned to the Pelican Rapids Police Department the following day, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<h2>Four Criminal Charges Filed<\/h2>\n<p>The strangulation charge carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison. It also carries a possible $5,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>Each felony domestic assault charge carries up to five years in prison. Each also carries a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>The fleeing charge carries up to 90 days in jail and a possible $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint states that Beery has several qualifying domestic violence convictions from the past ten years.<\/p>\n<p>Readers can review the relevant laws through the Minnesota Revisor of Statutes.
