Crookston Man Charged With Meth Near School<\/h2>\n

CROOKSTON<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Crookston man faces a felony drug charge following an incident near an elementary school.<\/p>\n

Arjundip Singh Daaljit, 36, is charged with third-degree controlled substance possession in a prohibited zone.<\/p>\n

The case was filed in Polk County District Court under court file 60-CR-26-862.<\/p>\n

The charge is based on events reported on June 21, 2026.<\/p>\n

Police Respond to Balcony Report<\/h2>\n

Police were called to an apartment building on Third Avenue Northeast in Crookston.<\/p>\n

A caller reported a person standing on a balcony and yelling.<\/p>\n

The building sits across from Highland Elementary School and the school district bus garage.<\/p>\n

Officers contacted Daaljit outside the building, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he moved his head and arms often.<\/p>\n

It also says he appeared to speak with people who were not present.<\/p>\n

Daaljit told police he had not used drugs.<\/p>\n

Pipe Allegedly Found Near Apartment<\/h2>\n

Police said Daaljit identified his home as an upstairs apartment.<\/p>\n

An officer then saw a glass pipe outside the apartment door, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The pipe had white residue and was collected as evidence.<\/p>\n

A field test was presumptively positive for methamphetamine, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Police arrested Daaljit and searched him.<\/p>\n

No other evidence was found on his person, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

Daaljit was taken to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.<\/p>\n

Jail staff requested medical clearance before booking.<\/p>\n

He was then taken to RiverView Emergency Room in Crookston.<\/p>\n

The complaint says a urine test was positive for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

Daaljit was medically cleared and returned to jail without further incident.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Carries Possible Prison Time<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors allege the pipe was within the protected area around Highland Elementary School.<\/p>\n

Minnesota law covers methamphetamine possession in school zones and other protected places.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible fine of up to $250,000.<\/p>\n
