{"id":37506,"date":"2026-07-13T16:43:26","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T21:43:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/?p=37506"},"modified":"2026-07-11T20:55:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T01:55:23","slug":"thief-river-falls-man-gets-75-months-in-drug-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/thief-river-falls-man-gets-75-months-in-drug-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Thief River Falls Man Gets 75 Months in Drug Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<h2>Thief River Falls Man Gets 75 Months in Drug Case<\/h2>\n<p><strong>THIEF RIVER FALLS<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A local man received a 75-month prison sentence on Monday, June 29, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The sentence followed a felony cocaine sale conviction in Pennington County District Court.<\/p>\n<p>A Pennington County jury convicted 23-year-old Tristian Allen Comstock on May 28.<\/p>\n<p>The jury found him guilty of second-degree controlled substance sale.<\/p>\n<p>It also found him guilty of third-degree cocaine possession.<\/p>\n<p>However, the court did not enter an adjudication on the possession charge.<\/p>\n<p>Jurors heard testimony for two days before receiving the case.<\/p>\n<p>They deliberated for slightly more than one hour before reaching their verdict.<\/p>\n<h2>Court Orders 75-Month Prison Term<\/h2>\n<p>Comstock received 75 months in prison for the cocaine sale conviction.<\/p>\n<p>The sentence will run concurrently with a prison term from another case.<\/p>\n<p>He received credit for 410 days already served.<\/p>\n<p>The court barred Comstock from possessing firearms, ammunition, or explosives for life.<\/p>\n<p>He must also provide a DNA sample.<\/p>\n<p>Comstock was ordered to pay $210 in fines and court fees.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center; margin: 24px 0;\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"display: block; max-width: 100%; height: auto; margin: 0 auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Comstock-Tristian-Allen.jpg\" alt=\"Mugshot of Tristian Allen Comstock\" \/><em>Tristian Allen Comstock<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Case Began With 2025 Traffic Stop<\/h2>\n<p>The charges followed a traffic stop on May 16, 2025, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators stopped Comstock\u2019s vehicle during surveillance by the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities also had probable cause to arrest a woman riding inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>A probation agent was present during the traffic stop.<\/p>\n<p>An investigator removed two knives before Comstock met with the probation agent.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities then searched Comstock\u2019s Pleasant Avenue home under his probation terms.<\/p>\n<p>Inside a safe, the agent found a cigarette box holding five plastic bags.<\/p>\n<p>Field testing showed the substance was cocaine, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>The cocaine weighed about 16.9 grams with packaging on an uncertified scale.<\/p>\n<p>Drug paraphernalia was also found inside the safe.<\/p>\n<h2>Complaint Details Comstock\u2019s Admission<\/h2>\n<p>Comstock admitted that the cocaine belonged to him.<\/p>\n<p>He said he had possessed the cocaine for about three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Comstock also said each bag weighed about 3.5 grams.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint states that he exchanged cocaine for sexual services.<\/p>\n<p>The substance was sent to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dps.mn.gov\/divisions\/bca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension<\/a> for laboratory analysis.<\/p>\n<h2>Prior Convictions Listed<\/h2>\n<p>The complaint also listed several prior convictions from 2023.<\/p>\n<p>They included a felony domestic abuse no-contact order violation.<\/p>\n<p>The list included fifth-degree drug possession and fourth-degree impaired driving.<\/p>\n<p>Two felony domestic assault by strangulation convictions were also listed.<\/p>\n<p>More court information is available through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mncourts.gov\/Find-Courts\/pennington.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pennington County District Court<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m Adrian Cole, reporting for <a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TRF News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><small>Copyright 2026 TRF News.
