Fargo Chase Ends in Felony Charge for Moorhead Man<\/h2>\n

FARGO, N.D.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Moorhead man faces a felony charge following an alleged high-speed chase and crash.<\/p>\n

Robert Wayne Sayers was charged Friday in Cass County District Court<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He faces reckless endangerment with extreme indifference, a Class C felony. Sayers was arraigned Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The case remains pending in court. A charge is an accusation, and Sayers is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.<\/p>\n

Vehicle Followed Through Fargo Neighborhood<\/h2>\n

Police responded around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9. The crash happened near 58th Street South and Beach Lane Street South.<\/p>\n

The victim said he and another driver had been shooting hockey pucks at Sheyenne High School.<\/p>\n

They later passed a parking lot containing a Cadillac and several occupants.<\/p>\n

The victim believed the Cadillac\u2019s occupants thought they were being watched.<\/p>\n

Police said the Cadillac then followed both vehicles through the residential neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The victim reported speeds near 50 mph during the pursuit. He slowed near a stop sign while preparing to turn.<\/p>\n

Police said the Cadillac then struck the victim\u2019s vehicle from behind.<\/p>\n

The victim told investigators he feared for his life during the chase.<\/p>\n

Witness and Camera Evidence<\/h2>\n

A witness reported seeing both vehicles moving at extreme speed through the residential area.<\/p>\n

A nearby home\u2019s Ring camera also recorded the incident, according to police.<\/p>\n

Investigators have not released the video publicly. The report did not describe injuries from the crash.<\/p>\n

Sayers Arrested After Collision<\/h2>\n

Police said Sayers showed signs of possible impairment after the collision.<\/p>\n

Officers reported a strong odor of alcohol and uncooperative behavior.<\/p>\n

Sayers was arrested at the scene. The information provided did not list a separate impaired-driving charge.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s vehicle remained drivable after the crash. However, it had damage across several areas.<\/p>\n
