Grand Forks Man Charged in Apartment Break-In<\/h2>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Grand Forks man faces felony charges after an alleged apartment break-in early Sunday.<\/p>\n

Police responded at about 12:30 a.m. on July 5. The disturbance happened near South 17th Street and 28th Avenue South.<\/p>\n

Court records identify the accused as Joseph Donald Krueger, 24, of Grand Forks. Police were called after reports of a disturbance at the complex.<\/p>\n

Argument Led to Reported Damage<\/h2>\n

According to court documents, Krueger argued with another man over disputed property. Police say Krueger punched a hole in an apartment wall.<\/p>\n

Authorities say Krueger then left the unit. Investigators say he returned a short time later.<\/p>\n

Krueger allegedly banged on the door and demanded entry. The resident refused to let him inside.<\/p>\n

Police say Krueger then entered through a screen window without permission. The alleged break-in followed the earlier property dispute.<\/p>\n

Threats Reported Inside Apartment<\/h2>\n

Once inside, Krueger allegedly threatened to beat and kill the resident. Court documents say he chased the man through the apartment.<\/p>\n

The chase then moved around the surrounding complex, police say. The reported threats came after the alleged forced entry.<\/p>\n

Officers arrived and spoke with Krueger about the reported disturbance. Police allege he gave officers the false last name \u201cBryan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Felony and Misdemeanor Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Krueger faces felony charges of burglary and terrorizing. He also faces misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and providing false information.<\/p>\n

The charges are allegations. Krueger is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n

Krueger appeared Monday in Grand Forks District Court. A no-contact order was proposed during the court process.<\/p>\n

His next court date is scheduled for August 17, 2026. The hearing will include a preliminary hearing and arraignment.<\/p>\n
