Badger Man Charged After Pennington County Stop<\/h2>\n

BADGER, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Badger man faces two charges following a traffic stop in Pennington County.<\/p>\n

Emil Arvid Barber, 47, was charged in Minnesota\u2019s Ninth Judicial District Court.<\/p>\n

The charges include driving after cancellation as inimical to public safety. That offense is a gross misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

Barber also faces a misdemeanor charge for unlawful use of a license plate.<\/p>\n

The allegations are included in Pennington County Court File 57-CR-25-721.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Near Center Street<\/h2>\n

The incident happened on October 16, 2025, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

A Minnesota State Patrol trooper was traveling near Center Street and 250th Avenue.<\/p>\n

The trooper reportedly saw a pickup traveling faster than the posted speed limit.<\/p>\n

Radar showed the pickup traveling 70 mph in a 60-mph zone, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

The trooper stopped the pickup and identified Barber as the driver.<\/p>\n

A license check showed Barber\u2019s driving privileges were canceled as inimical to public safety.<\/p>\n

Authorities arrested Barber and transported him to the Pennington County Jail.<\/p>\n

The complaint states that Barber was booked and later released.<\/p>\n

License Plate Investigation<\/h2>\n

Later that evening, the trooper reviewed the pickup\u2019s license plate information.<\/p>\n

The plate reportedly belonged to a Pontiac Grand Prix owned by Barber.<\/p>\n

The trooper returned to the parked pickup and recorded its vehicle identification number.<\/p>\n

A records check showed the pickup\u2019s assigned license plates had been revoked.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege Barber displayed plates that were not issued for the pickup.<\/p>\n

The driving charge carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $3,000 fine, or both penalties.<\/p>\n

The license plate charge carries up to 90 days in jail.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $1,000 fine or both penalties.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists several earlier court matters involving Barber.<\/p>\n

Those matters include driving, DWI, burglary, vehicle theft, and domestic assault cases.<\/p>\n
