Climax Man Charged in Registry Address Case<\/h2>\n

CLIMAX, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Climax man faces a felony charge involving Minnesota\u2019s predatory offender registry.<\/p>\n

Shane Dennis Gorden, 46, is charged with failing to register his primary address. The charge was filed in Polk County District Court.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists the alleged offense date as May 18, 2026. Prosecutors allege the violation continued from February 11 through May 18.<\/p>\n

Address Change Questioned<\/h2>\n

Court records state Gorden changed his registered address on February 11. He listed a mobile home address in Hawley as his primary residence.<\/p>\n

However, investigators reviewed several calls involving Gorden at an apartment in Climax. Those calls occurred during March, April, and May.<\/p>\n

A woman at the apartment reportedly told deputies that Gorden was her boyfriend. She also said they lived together at the Climax address.<\/p>\n

Statements Cited in Complaint<\/h2>\n

Deputies later went to the Climax apartment while seeking Gorden on an unrelated warrant. The complaint says Gorden came from a closet.<\/p>\n

Gorden reportedly told deputies that he lived with his mother in Hawley. Police then contacted authorities familiar with that registered address.<\/p>\n

His mother reportedly said Gorden did not live there. She also said she had not seen him since May 8.<\/p>\n

The complaint cites another statement Gorden allegedly made during a May 15 transport. He reportedly said he lived with his girlfriend in Climax.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors allege Gorden knowingly failed to register his true primary address. The case is filed as court number 60-CR-26-780.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists a possible sentence of two to five years. It also lists a fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n

The charge falls under Minnesota Statute 243.166<\/a>. The law covers predatory offender registration duties.<\/p>\n
