Thief River Falls Man Sentenced in DANCO Case<\/h2>\n

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Chase Donald Nomeland, 29, was sentenced for a felony DANCO violation.<\/p>\n

The court imposed a 15-month prison term but stayed it for five years. Nomeland must complete five years of supervised probation.<\/p>\n

He was also ordered to serve 90 days in jail. The court credited him with 60 days already served.<\/p>\n

The court considers the jail condition fully served.<\/p>\n

Court Orders Probation and Treatment<\/h2>\n

Nomeland must follow every active protection order and domestic abuse no-contact order.<\/p>\n

He cannot possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives while on probation.<\/p>\n

The court also ordered a comprehensive assessment within 60 days. Nomeland must complete any recommended treatment and aftercare.<\/p>\n

He must also pay $210 in fines and fees.<\/p>\n

Incident at Pennington County Home<\/h2>\n

The felony charge followed a Feb. 22 incident at a Pennington County home.<\/p>\n

Police went there while investigating a suspected probation violation involving another man.<\/p>\n

Officers encountered Nomeland during that visit. The criminal complaint said a probationary DANCO was ordered on Jan. 27.<\/p>\n

Nomeland had been advised about the order one day earlier.<\/p>\n

That notice occurred during sentencing in a separate 2025 court case.<\/p>\n

Police found the protected person at the home. Authorities also knew Nomeland frequently visited the property.<\/p>\n

The other man told police that Nomeland was there.<\/p>\n

Officers later found Nomeland hiding behind a vehicle inside the garage.<\/p>\n

Earlier Convictions Listed<\/h2>\n

The complaint referenced earlier court cases involving Nomeland.<\/p>\n

It said he was convicted of two gross misdemeanor domestic assault counts.<\/p>\n

Those convictions were entered on Jan. 26 in the 2025 case. That case led to the probationary no-contact order.<\/p>\n

The complaint also listed an April 2025 conviction. That conviction involved violating a harassment restraining order.<\/p>\n

The complaint did not clearly identify whether that case involved the same protected person.<\/p>\n
