Bemidji Woman Charged After Reported Assault<\/h2>\n

Amira Erin Rossbach, 19, was charged in Beltrami County District Court. The charge is fifth-degree assault following a prior qualifying conviction.<\/p>\n

Rossbach told deputies the woman stood and began hitting her. Rossbach admitted to placing her hands on the woman\u2019s neck.<\/p>\n

She said she was trying to move the woman from the room. She also said she wanted to stop further blows.<\/p>\n

Rossbach described the woman as her second cousin. She said the cousin did not live at the home.<\/p>\n

Deputies photographed scratches on Rossbach\u2019s face and arms, the complaint states. She was then arrested and taken to jail.<\/p>\n

The filing says the jail transfer happened without incident. No further injury details were included in the complaint.<\/p>\n

Charge Carries Possible Jail Time<\/h2>\n

The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 609.224<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A conviction could bring up to 364 days in jail. The maximum fine listed in the complaint is $3,000.<\/p>\n

The filing also cites two fifth-degree assault convictions from May 19, 2026. It also lists a disorderly conduct conviction.<\/p>\n
