Detroit Lakes Woman Charged After .17 Breath Tests<\/h2>\n

DETROIT LAKES<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Detroit Lakes woman faces two gross misdemeanor impaired-driving charges in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Lynn Sharon Hendricks is charged with third-degree driving while impaired. She also faces third-degree driving with an alcohol concentration of .08 or higher.<\/p>\n

The charges follow an alleged traffic stop on May 16, 2026. Court records list one aggravating factor in the case.<\/p>\n

Caller Reported SUV Crossing Roadway<\/h2>\n

Authorities received a driving complaint at about 3:39 p.m., according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

The caller reported a red Chevrolet SUV moving across the roadway. The caller also reported the vehicle entering an oncoming traffic lane.<\/p>\n

The SUV allegedly left Minnesota Highway 34 and entered Highland Drive. It later traveled toward Eighth Avenue Southeast.<\/p>\n

A state trooper located the SUV near Eighth Street Southeast and Eleventh Avenue.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the SUV made a slow turn onto Eleventh Avenue. It allegedly came close to striking a squad vehicle.<\/p>\n

Court records also state the vehicle had expired registration. Emergency lights and a siren were activated before the driver stopped.<\/p>\n

Complaint Alleges Signs of Impairment<\/h2>\n

Hendricks was identified as the driver, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges she smelled of alcohol and repeated herself. It also alleges that her speech was slurred.<\/p>\n

Hendricks agreed to complete field sobriety tests. Prosecutors allege she performed poorly during those tests.<\/p>\n

A preliminary breath test showed an alcohol concentration of .17, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

Hendricks was arrested and transported to the Becker County Jail.<\/p>\n

At the jail, she received Minnesota\u2019s breath test advisory. She then agreed to another breath test.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege the second test also showed an alcohol concentration of .17.<\/p>\n

Two Gross Misdemeanor Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Hendricks is charged under Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a> and Minnesota Statute 169A.26<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Each charge carries a maximum possible sentence of one year in jail.<\/p>\n

Each charge also carries a possible fine of up to $3,000. Those penalties are maximums and are not a sentence.<\/p>\n

The case was filed in Minnesota\u2019s Seventh Judicial District. The court file number is 03-CR-26-1005.<\/p>\n
