Detroit Lakes Chase Leads to Felony Charge<\/h2>\n

DETROIT LAKES<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Horace, North Dakota, man faces a felony charge after an alleged high-speed chase.<\/p>\n

Dillon Joseph Dullea, 34, is charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. The case was filed in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Woman Reports Man Near Her Home<\/h2>\n

Court records say the incident began on May 7, 2026. A Detroit Lakes woman was outside her home with her dog.<\/p>\n

She reported seeing a man walking quickly toward her residence. His appearance and direct approach caused her concern.<\/p>\n

The woman went inside and locked her doors. The man then allegedly knocked on her door and windows.<\/p>\n

An officer spoke with the woman at the scene. During that conversation, a gold 2007 Nissan Maxima drove past the residence.<\/p>\n

The woman told the officer the man was inside the passing vehicle.<\/p>\n

Pursuit Ends Over Safety Concerns<\/h2>\n

The officer entered a squad vehicle and activated the emergency lights. The Maxima then accelerated near James Street and Roosevelt Avenue.<\/p>\n

The pursuit continued onto North Shore Drive. The officer reported traveling about 67 mph in a 30-mph zone.<\/p>\n

The Maxima was estimated to be moving between 70 and 80 mph. The chase passed through a residential neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The officer ended the pursuit because of the danger to nearby residents and drivers. The Maxima then turned north onto Corbett Road.<\/p>\n

The officer later saw a distant vehicle moving quickly near Highway 10.<\/p>\n

Vehicle Found in Fergus Falls<\/h2>\n

Investigators contacted the car\u2019s owner. The owner said the vehicle had been loaned to Dullea.<\/p>\n

Authorities later found the Maxima at a Fergus Falls residence. Dullea was arrested at that location.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Dullea admitted being in the car during the trip. He allegedly said he traveled from the owner\u2019s home to Fergus Falls.<\/p>\n

Dullea also admitted approaching the Detroit Lakes residence, according to the complaint. He reportedly said he wanted to ask about jumper cables.<\/p>\n

Bail Set, July Hearing Scheduled<\/h2>\n

On May 8, the court set unconditional bail at $60,000. Bail with standard release conditions was set at $25,000.<\/p>\n

A settlement conference was scheduled for July 8 before District Judge Gretchen D. Thilmony.<\/p>\n

The charge is an allegation and does not prove guilt. Dullea is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
