Glyndon Man Charged After 95 Calls to Sheriff<\/h2>\n

BECKER COUNTY<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Glyndon man faces two criminal charges after repeated calls to the Becker County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Julian Gilbert is charged with gross misdemeanor harassment. He also faces a misdemeanor involving emergency communications.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from calls allegedly made on June 1, 2026. The claims appear in a Becker County District Court complaint.<\/p>\n

Complaint Describes Repeated Calls<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, Gilbert began calling the sheriff\u2019s office around noon. Staff transferred one call to the sheriff.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Gilbert sounded upset and used insulting language. He also allegedly told the sheriff to watch his back.<\/p>\n

Gilbert called again after the sheriff ended the first conversation. He allegedly said he would search the sheriff\u2019s garbage.<\/p>\n

Court records allege Gilbert continued calling the general office line. Staff tried giving him a direct office number.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Gilbert refused to listen and kept calling. Staff counted about 50 calls before they stopped answering.<\/p>\n

Officials later estimated about 95 calls between noon and 1:45 p.m. The complaint says several calls were recorded.<\/p>\n

Phone Lines Allegedly Targeted<\/h2>\n

A staff member answered one call around 12:45 p.m. The caller identification displayed Gilbert\u2019s name and phone number.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the staff member recognized Gilbert\u2019s voice. Gilbert allegedly demanded to speak with the sheriff.<\/p>\n

He also allegedly said he would keep calling every office line. He said he wanted to tie up those lines.<\/p>\n

Staff warned that other callers needed access to the office. Gilbert allegedly continued making calls after that warning.<\/p>\n

Investigators later reviewed recordings from several calls. The complaint includes edited summaries of those conversations.<\/p>\n

The recordings allegedly captured repeated demands to reach the sheriff. They also included threats to use automatic redial.<\/p>\n

Charges and Possible Penalties<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors charged Gilbert under Minnesota\u2019s harassment law<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That count carries up to 364 days in jail. It also carries a possible $3,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The second charge concerns an emergency call made when no emergency allegedly existed. Prosecutors allege the call aimed to disrupt services.<\/p>\n

That misdemeanor carries up to 90 days in jail. It also carries a possible $1,000 fine.<\/p>\n

The case is filed in Minnesota\u2019s Seventh Judicial District. The court file number is 03-CR-26-1078.<\/p>\n
