Mentor Manager Charged After Man Suffers Broken Jaw<\/h2>\n

MENTOR, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Crookston man faces a felony assault charge after an alleged attack in Mentor.<\/p>\n

Guadalupe Francisco Peralta, 36, was charged with third-degree assault involving substantial bodily harm.<\/p>\n

The charge was filed in Polk County District Court under case number 60-CR-26-832.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege the incident happened on June 15, 2026, near an apartment complex on Third Street North.<\/p>\n

Private Meeting Followed Dinner<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the victim and his wife went to Dairy Queen for dinner.<\/p>\n

Both reportedly worked at the restaurant.<\/p>\n

Peralta, identified as the victim\u2019s manager, asked to speak with him privately.<\/p>\n

The two then went to a trailer parked across from the restaurant, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

The victim later returned to his apartment with visible facial injuries.<\/p>\n

He reportedly could not remember what happened inside the trailer.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews found swelling and bruising near his left eye and a large cut on his lip.<\/p>\n

He was taken by ambulance to RiverView\u2019s emergency department in Crookston.<\/p>\n

Hospital staff later confirmed that he suffered a fractured jaw.<\/p>\n

Complaint Details Investigation<\/h2>\n

Investigators spoke with the victim\u2019s wife after the reported assault.<\/p>\n

She said the private meeting lasted about 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

She noticed his injuries when he returned from the trailer.<\/p>\n

She also told investigators that the discussion involved workplace and personal issues.<\/p>\n

Peralta first denied that the meeting became physical, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

He later admitted striking the victim, the complaint alleges.<\/p>\n

The document states that the two men shook hands afterward.<\/p>\n

Peralta was then arrested on suspicion of assault.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Third-degree assault is a felony under Minnesota law<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A conviction can bring up to five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n
