FERGUS FALLS<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Fergus Falls woman faces a felony card fraud charge in Otter Tail County.<\/p>\n

Amelia Marie Hoffmann, 42, was charged by summons in Minnesota\u2019s Seventh Judicial District Court.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges Hoffmann used a company credit card without permission. The alleged purchases occurred between July 6, 2024, and June 3, 2025.<\/p>\n

Company Reports 23 Amazon Purchases<\/h2>\n

A company regional director contacted Fergus Falls police on August 5, 2025. The director reported possible misuse of a company credit card.<\/p>\n

Some employees could use the card for client purchases. Personal purchases were not allowed, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The company identified 23 Amazon purchases totaling $1,645.37. Court records say the items included shirts, perfume, and psoriasis cream.<\/p>\n

Several packages were delivered to another person\u2019s address. Some packages used that person\u2019s name, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Hoffmann Says Charges Were an Error<\/h2>\n

Hoffmann spoke with the police by phone after the report. She admitted to making personal purchases through the company\u2019s Amazon account.<\/p>\n

However, she said she intended to use her own credit card. She said several cards were connected to the account.<\/p>\n

Hoffmann said any company card charges that happened by mistake. She also said the listed items matched purchases she might make.<\/p>\n

The complaint says some clothing appeared consistent with Hoffmann\u2019s size. The company also questioned whether the items served the client’s needs.<\/p>\n

Hoffmann explained why packages went to another address. She said packages had previously been stolen from her residence.<\/p>\n

She said someone was often available at the other address to receive deliveries.<\/p>\n

Charge Carries Possible Prison Term<\/h2>\n

The charge falls under Minnesota Statute 609.821<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A conviction could bring up to five years in prison. The maximum fine is $10,000.<\/p>\n

The case number is 56-CR-26-1173. Public information may be available through Minnesota Court Records Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A criminal complaint contains allegations. Hoffmann is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
